FAQ Fertility

  • I want to conceive - where to start?

Find a good GP and book a pre-conception consult. Come off contraception and check any medications you are on. Optimize your general health including diet, weight, fitness and mental health. Start a prenatal supplement, consider birth options (listen to our podcast Ep Public Vs Private) then if required, check your health insurance. If you are cisfemale and don’t have a male partner, discuss your options with your GP.

  • What fertility services do you offer?

When you are trying to conceive (TTC) you want to be in the best shape physically and mentally. You may consider an appointment with our dietician, to learn about the evidence for fertility-friendly foods. Physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates can provide tailored exercise for any stage of TTC, including our mellow Pilates class. Psychology is great if you want to be in the best mental headspace. Plus you deserve a massage.

  • Do you support IVF?

Yes. We definitely support women and families going through IVF. We do not offer medical services (such as fertility doctors) but we provide allied health support that is proven to support fertility. The founder of Hatched House did IVF and knows firsthand the importance of surrounding yourself with a team of experts.

  • Is IVF the only fertility treatment?

No. IVF is one form of fertility treatment. Speak with your fertility specialist about IUI, IVF, donor eggs and sperm, surrogacy, egg freezing and fertility medication. At Hatched House we are not doctors, so we are careful to work within our scope of practice and we offer allied health fertility support.

  • Can I exercise during IVF?

Yes. It is important to remain active and healthy throughout IVF. We understand that at certain times in your IVF treatment cycle, your physical activity levels will change and you may want to avoid high intensity training. Book a consult with your physiotherapist and doctor to discuss your individual needs.

  • Do you have fertility doctors?

No. We do not have doctors at Hatched House. Speak with your GP about a referral to a fertility doctor. We recommend Dr Chris Russel and his team at Newlife IVF. We can then offer allied health support.
