Hypnobirthing Australia™ Knowledge to make informed decisions & tools to embrace childbirth.

  • In the 12 hour course, we discuss birthing your baby using your own resources & we know women have different wants and needs for the way their baby is born.

Not all births go to plan. This course supports women to do what feels right for them. Ultimately, we want women to remember their birth as a positive experience.

Encouraging & supportive people caring for you is incredibly important, thus hypnobirthing significantly involves the SUPPORT PERSON, so they are empowered to help be an advocate for what the mother wants & needs.

  • I am physio and a mum. I’ve had two great (albeit very different) births. My husband and I had our first bub via vaginal birth (without any medical pain relief) supported by wonderful midwives. We had our second bub via a planned caesarean section supported by my wonderful obstetrician. Both births were great, because I felt supported and loved.

I am one of the only physiotherapists in Australia with post-graduate qualifications in Pelvic Floor & Continence Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine. I am a Hypnobirthing Australia Practitioner and clinical Pilates instructor. So, I am the right practitioner for you IF you like an evidence approach and want the best for you and your baby.

Clinically, I have a special interest in treating incontinence, prolapse, sexual pain and perinatal exercise/sport. I am a published writer and have a paper “Exercise After Pregnancy” in the Australian Journal of General Practice.

Outside of work, my family is my world. I love my husband Scott and our kids - hilarious Emilia and beautiful baby Max.

“We couldn’t be happier with the outcome as you will see in my feedback form. Sorry to waffle on a bit, we just got so much out of it – wanted to express what a difference it has made in my mindset. Could not have been a better fit for us! Last week I was honestly feeling really frustrated with the lack of contact, support and information and a bit defeated I guess. Now I actually don’t really mind WHAT the hospital ends up telling us or not – I feel like all my questions have been answered. And more importantly, feel like I can let go of those negative feelings & return to a positive mindset. Can’t thank you enough.”

“Thanks again for a fantastic weekend. We really enjoyed it and took some much out of the course. You are made for the role and such a good facilitator. 11 out of 10! Dale feels empowered to have a bigger, more formal part to play.”

Well, you’re here on our page so OBVS the Hypnobirthing Australia program. But seriously, they’re both very similar and both great.

Unit 1 - the science behind childbirth, pain, why we teach what we do.

Unit 2 - out "tool kit" for birth eg the role of the partner/support person, practicing relaxation strategies, breathing, massage, mindfulness, labour and optimal birth positions, setting up a relaxing environment.

Unit 3 - discussing all the options for birth, what might happen, possibilities for interventions and why you may or may not want this. Not to rule anything out, but to be informed. Medication options, interventions.

Unit 4 - logistics and bring it all together.
