Benefits of hypnobirthing during pregnancy

We empower expecting parents with the tools and knowledge to approach birth with confidence, calmness, and positivity through our hypnobirthing classes in Melbourne and online. Not all births go to plan. This course supports women to do what feels right for them. Ultimately, we want women to remember their birth as a positive experience.

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a childbirth education method that focuses on techniques for deep relaxation, breathing and visualisation to create a calm birth environment. Our Hypnobirthing Australiaβ„’ classes equip you with proven techniques to achieve an empowering birth experience, regardless of how your baby is born. We also offer the Positive Caesarean Course.

It's no secret that birthing takes a toll on your body. Hypnobirthing is not about eliminating pain but reframing how we approach birth. Through relaxation and self-hypnosis, hypnobirthing teaches you how to achieve a positive mindset and remain calm and focused throughout labour, creating a more positive experience when giving birth.

The details

  • We couldn’t be happier with the outcome as you will see in my feedback form. Sorry to waffle on a bit, we just got so much out of it – wanted to express what a difference it has made in my mindset. Could not have been a better fit for us! Last week I was honestly feeling really frustrated with the lack of contact, support and information and a bit defeated I guess. Now I actually don’t really mind WHAT the hospital ends up telling us or not – I feel like all my questions have been answered. And more importantly, feel like I can let go of those negative feelings & return to a positive mindset. Can’t thank you enough.”

  • β€œThanks again for a fantastic weekend. We really enjoyed it and took some much out of the course. You are made for the role and such a good facilitator. 11 out of 10! Dale feels empowered to have a bigger, more formal part to play.”

About Rosie

I am a physiotherapist and a mum. I’ve had two great (albeit very different) births. My husband and I had our first bub via vaginal birth (without any medical pain relief) supported by wonderful midwives. We had our second bub via a planned caesarean section supported by my wonderful obstetrician. Both births were great because I felt supported and loved.

I am one of the only physiotherapists in Australia with post-graduate qualifications in Pelvic Floor & Continence Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine. I am a Hypnobirthing Australia Practitioner and clinical Pilates instructor. So, I am the right practitioner IF you like an evidence-based approach and want the best for you and your baby.

Clinically, I have a special interest in treating incontinence, prolapse, sexual pain and perinatal exercise/sport. I am a published writer and have a paper β€œExercise After Pregnancy” in the Australian Journal of General Practice.

Outside of work, my family is my world. I love my husband, Scott and our kids - hilarious Emilia and beautiful baby Max.
