Antenatal Breastfeeding Education

  • Join our expert, Nicola (IBCLC) for a supportive workshop designed to prepare you for the practical side of breastfeeding.


    We’ll cover topics such as:

    • How milk supply is established and maintained

    • Skin-to-skin contact and the first feed

    • How fit and hold works to aim for comfortable breastfeeding 

    • Feeding cues and signs of effective feeding

    • Common challenges and how to manage them

    • The role of your partner or support person

    • Where to find help and support when you need it.

    This course is ideal for first-time parents or those looking to refresh their knowledge. Partners and support people are welcome and encouraged to attend

    Here’s how antenatal breastfeeding education can support you:

    Parents who receive breastfeeding education before birth are more likely to begin breastfeeding early, continue for longer, and feel more confident. One major review found that antenatal education increases exclusive breastfeeding rates at hospital discharge and even at six months postpartum.

    Breastfeeding comes with a learning curve. Knowing how milk supply works, what a good fit and hold looks like, and how to recognise when your baby is feeding well can make a big differenceβ€”especially during those sleep-deprived early days.

    When your support person attends too, they learn how to offer practical and emotional support. This can boost your confidence and help create a positive home environmentβ€”something we know is strongly linked to successful breastfeeding.

Age Stronger

  • Age Stronger: supporting women to build strong bones, healthy hearts, good balance and functional independence.

    Inclusions:

    • Age Stronger Assessment‍

      This hour is specifically designed to assess your goals, balance, strength & conditioning and explain results, such as your DEXA scan.

    • Age Stronger 1:1 Exercise session

      In this half hour session, your physio will teach you HOW to lift weights safely and correctly. Plus finalise your individual program.

    • Age Stronger Review

      This session is booked as a 30min, 1:1 physio consult AFTER you have attended 10 Age Stronger classes. We review your program and reassess your goals, ready to make you stronger.

    • Age Stronger Exercise Classes

      This clinical exercise class runs every Wednesday at 11am. Once you have done both your introduction sessions, you can join the class. We highly recommend booking 10 classes in a row. We understand that life gets busy, so if you can’t make it to the class every single week, you can do a make-up class (your 10-class-pack expires after 3 months).

    • Education

      We have developed the Age Stronger education component to help you understand WHY this program is so important. Plus, you get to learn from additional allied health experts and doctors. You also to take home a resource bundle and workbook.
